Here's how: The fabric you prepare (according to instructions in the pattern) starts a little larger than the finished size of the quilt. The center medallion remains the same no matter the size of the quilt. It is the border that expands, is wider, to make the quilt larger. Each pattern provides more details to help make it happen.
